Home to almost 8,000 Pennsylvanians, Millersville is 40 miles southeast of Harrisburg and a few minutes outside of Lancaster. Originally named Millerstown, the community was originally a crossroads for goods and sales brought from the local farming communities into the Lancaster area. Besides fine homes and well-maintained neighborhoods, residents of a Millersville house or apartment for rent also enjoy the city's large parks, including the 21-acre Millersville Borough Community Park that provides playing fields and courts, playgrounds, picnic facilities, and a perimeter walking path.
The Millersville Parade is the largest and most time-intensive festival that the city hosts. Filled with floats, balloons, food, and other attractions, thousands of people from Millersville and the surrounding area both participate in and watch the grand annual parade. Millersville University, one of the first teaching academies in the nation, is in the middle of Millersville and provides a good deal of support to the community through its facilities, public speaker series, and other neighborhood events.
